Anyone hunt hogs at night?

What equipment would i need to get, like what brands of night vision scopes, cameras… etc. Also what kind of gun would u use? I have a AR 15 .308, i think that would work expecially with mounting a night vision scope. Also what does Infrared have to do with night vision. What is the difference b/t the two and the resemblence.

Depends where your at…. TexASS allows hunting ferel hogs at night becuase they are not considered a game animal…. set up a feeder, get a "red" or colored light ( pigs are colored blind…. I suggest you hunt from a tree stand or evelated blind…and set it up close to the feeder… as for a weapon, I suggest a high capacity semi auto 12 ga. shotgun, shooting 00-buck. Keep in mind if your in a state or area that pigs are not considered game animals…. the hunting regulations do not apply……. Texas, has not limit on the number of pigs you kill in a day, there is not season (open 24 / 7 / 365 days). There are places (ranches / farms) that will buy you your ammo, just to kill some of the pigs….. they are known to teat the crap out of the ground, fences and everything else they come in contact with…. So, have fun, and blast the S*H*IT** out of them……

i don’t hunt hogs but i do hunt neighbor’s cats at night. we go around the neighborhood drunk and shoot cats w bb. it’s really fun. we don’t use night visions or expensive equipment. i think the fun of the whole chase is you have to sniff out the cats yourself. it’s harder to do but the reward after you hear the cat meow in terror is worth it.
If you want bacon man go to the store. you can get pork there also. And it is legal to get it there.
It’s legal where I live. The hogs on our club have gone almost completely nocturnal because of the pressure. I have been thinking about it and the best solution is probably this-a feeder with lights powered by solar panels.
Legal or not, I think it would be a little dangerouse.
